Breathing In New Possibilities

In this springtime season, we are invited to breathe in new possibilities while also recognizing and  honoring the complexity that life brings.

This beautiful poem, written by my friend and colleague Nancy Gibson, speaks of breathing and gratitude. Savoring her words is a lovely practice in itself!

Breathing In

Breathing in, I am grateful for my heart
even when feeling broken in a thousand little pieces
Breathing in, I am grateful for my tears
even when they flow in endless rivers from my eyes
Breathing in, I am grateful for my strength
even when there is nothing left to hold onto
Breathing in, I am grateful for my gifts
even on the days there is nothing left to give
Breathing in, I am grateful for my soul
even when empty darkness leaves me feeling all alone
Breathing in, I am grateful for my joy
even when my dancing feet are stumbling
Breathing in, I am grateful for my life
day by day unfolding
in the good times and the bad
Breathing in, I am grateful

How can reflecting on the things for which you are grateful serve you?

And, if you would like to bring more mindfulness into your life in this often busy time of year, I have availability for a few more private mindfulness coaching clients.

To what one breath can do,

Spring won’t let me stay
in this house any longer! I must get out
and breathe the air deeply again.”
~ Gustav Mahler
