Reflecting Back to Shine Forward

Amy Bloom Connolly shares a poem she wrote back in 2007 that evokes an invitation to transformation worthy of our attention and intentions as we step into this new year.

Healing Grief through Compassionate Presence

Grief is never easy, nor is it predictable. Whether we are being present to the grief of another or walking through our own, a tender and patient response is invited. Deeply woven into the fabric of life, grief is an inevitable part of being human. If we allow it, sharing this universal emotion can invite the gifts of connection, compassion, gratitude and love.

Finding ease in the midst of pain

When pain arises, we can create a different relationship with it to lessen its grip. When we notice with kind attention how sensations change, fluctuate, ebb and flow, it feels as if the pain has less power. Through practicing mindful awareness, we can become skilled at dealing with moment to moment sensations of pain.
