Nourishing Mind & Body

We are celebrating the completion of the first phase of our inaugural two-year Facilitator Training Institute. The second phase of the program will focus on the SHINE program at the Women’s Housing Coalition. This phase allows the Facilitator Trainees to observe and directly participate in an on-site program with the residents. YOU can be an important part of this exciting new phase.

Young Parents Growing Together

SHINE is helping young parents grow, navigate life’s challenges, and become better parents. We recently graduated a group of young parents from a 10-session SHINE program. During our 10 weeks together, we focused on the Keys to Mindfulness [LINK], shared victories, practiced mindful listening and speaking, and learned ways to reduce stress and deal with strong feelings. The parents themselves had a lot to say about what they learned and how it is making a difference in their lives.

Pausing to notice and celebrate life’s victories

It’s easy to get caught up in the goals, plans and details of of life and overlook the accomplishments we’ve had along the way. Taking a moment to notice those large and small victories provides renewed incentive to continue on. Here are a few of the recent victories I’ve been encouraged by from our work with underserved populations and those who support them.
