The world is a better place when we are caring for the seniors in our communities. Sharing mindful awareness practices with seniors helps them to cope with anxiety, depression and other chronic health conditions; strengthen their capacity for compassion toward themselves and others; engage in their community with greater ease; and enhance the quality of their lives.
Mindful communication includes careful attention to both speaking and listening in order to be more fully connected in conversation. When we listen with our full presence, both the speaker and the listener are rewarded. Amy shared some mindful listening practices to a senior retirement home, and the lessons learned were happily received.
